About Zafira
Where story meets strategy. Where lived experience becomes leadership.

I’m Zafira Nanji Scott (she/her), founder of Zari Insights.
My work lives at the intersection of Human Resources, Disability and End-of-Life Doula care, and lived experience. I support people and organizations through transitions that are often complex, emotional, or uncomfortable — the kind that don’t always fit neatly into policy or planning frameworks.
I started working in HR as a teenager alongside my dad. His example taught me to lead with accountability, empathy, and care — principles that have stayed with me across roles as a recruiter, HR director, facilitator, and strategist. Over the years, I’ve worked across sectors and alongside leadership teams navigating growth, conflict, restructure, and recovery. I hold a CPHR and SHRM-SCP, and am a certified Brain-Based Coach.
At the same time, I’ve supported families and individuals through deeply personal transitions — disability, death, grief, and systemic navigation. As a certified Doula, I offer grounded, culturally informed care that is practical, thoughtful, and human. I’ve sat beside hospital beds, built care teams, held space for hard conversations, and helped people reclaim clarity in moments of uncertainty.
Zari Insights is rooted in the belief that how we move through transitions — as individuals and institutions — says everything about our values. My job is to help you move with intention, and to ask the right questions along the way.
I bring lived and professional experience as a third-generation Canadian with Khoja and East African roots. I’ve worked internationally, across languages and systems, and I understand the nuances that shape identity and belonging in professional spaces. My perspective is balanced, non-racist, inclusive and informed by Indigenous practices. When needed, I bring in a trusted team of collaborators. I believe in clarity, accountability, and excellence — not just doing it fast.
